Empowered Birth Program

(a trauma informed birth program)

Pregnancy and birth can feel expansive, overwhelming, beautiful, and uncertain all at once. This program was created to hold space for all of it — offering steady emotional support alongside grounded, practical preparation so you can move through this season feeling more confident, connected, and supported.

This is a blended therapy and education experience designed to help you prepare not just for birth, but for the transition into postpartum life. The program includes six therapy sessions and one non-hospital-based birth class, integrating emotional processing, attachment-based support, and evidence-informed birth preparation. You’ll have space to explore your hopes, fears, and decisions at your own pace, while building tools that support both you and your growing family.

Partners are warmly encouraged to participate, creating space for shared understanding, communication, and connection as you prepare together.

Program cost is $650 and is covered by KS Medicaid, United Healthcare, Optum, UMR, Oscar, Aetna, and TriWest. For clients with other insurance providers (including BCBS and Anthem), sessions may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement.

Throughout the program, you are invited to bring your full experience with you — questions, birth preferences, uncertainties, and hopes. Many clients find it helpful to:

  • Include their partner in sessions for shared support and preparation

  • Bring any existing birth plans, notes, or preferences

  • Keep a journal for reflections, emotions, and affirmations as they move through the process
